On Sunday September 17, 2017, MSSL collaborated with Macy’s to hold a fundraiser performance at the Walnut Creek Macy’s. The purpose of this fundraiser was to spread the awareness of The Rett Syndrome, and raise money for a donation to the Katie Nues Foundation, an organization supporting research and help to girls affected by Rett Syndrome.

On September 9, 2017 MSSL held a performance at Aegis of Moraga Senior Living Home. We had a special guest performer, Ada Fong, play a traditional Chinese instrument called the cucurbit flute. We at MSSL would like to thank Aegis of Moraga for opening their wonderful facility and the performers for making this event possible.
In support of the those suffering from mental illness and their families, MSSL has donated $100 to the National Association of Mental Illness (NAMI). We sincerely hope to spread awareness of the importance of NAMI’s service to those in need of it!
MSSL is raising money to help support the annual NorCal Strollathon held by rettsyndrome.org, in honor of youth diagnosed with Rett Syndrome. Please help us support the Strollathon by donating – any amount helps!!

The Music Students Service League is looking for new officers for 2017-2018.
To apply as an officer you must meet these requirements:
- You must be a MSSL member.
- You must be an incoming 8th grader or older.
Please take note: as officers, you are not only responsible for your individual leadership roles but you must also fundraise at least $50 for donations to Katie’s Clinic of USCF Benioff Children’s Hospital at least once a year.
If you are interested, please answer the following two questions and email your responses to firstname.lastname@example.org by Saturday July 15th, 2017.
- Why are you applying to become an officer in MSSL? Be specific.
- How, as either a Secretary or Historian would you improve our nonprofit’s ability to serve underprivileged communities? Offer specifics.

On June 24th, 2017 seven MSSL members performed at Moraga Royale. Performances ranged from jazz and contemporary music to flutes and violins. We at MSSL would like to thank Moraga Royale, and especially the lovely performers, for making this event possible. We couldn’t have done it without you!

On June 9, 2017 MSSL presented a donation of three hundred fifty dollars to Katie’s Clinic for Rett Syndrome, a clinic under the UCSF Benioff Children’s Hospital. MSSL raised this money through promotions, performances, and fundraisers. Thank you to all the donors who made this donation possible!
On June 3, 2017, President Serena Wang was invited and performed at a private event, where she raised $200 to donate to Katie’s Clinic of UCSF Benioff Children’s Hospital. We’d like to thank the event hostess and her guests for their donations!
